Anemia is a medical condition in which the red blood cell count or hemoglobin is less than usual.

Anemia is caused basically through two basic pathways. Anemia is either caused by the following:
1. a decrease in production of red blood cell or hemoglobin, or
2. a loss or destruction of blood.
These changes could be brought about by a lot of related medical conditions.

A number of patients with anemia have no symptoms. Others with anemia might feel:
• appear pale
• tired
• develop palpitations
• become short of breath.
• fatigue easily
Additional symptoms might include:
• hair loss
• worsening of heart problems
• malaise
