Mental Health

I keep having these panic attacks when there is too much noise or light, or too many people. It makes me feel like I am dissolving into the things that are saturating my environment. Any thoughts?

My best friend had chemo and radiation for breast cancer. After she finished her treatments they did a bone scan and said she was "in complete remission." What does that mean? Does it mean that she doesn`t have cancer any more? Or does it mean she doesn`t need more treatment but she still has cancer? I am concerned about my friend and I don`t know what all these terms mean. She is still on medical leave from her job and isn`t sure whether she wants to go back to work or not. She is still tired all the time, is that normal after cancer treatment?

Hello, I have a couple of questions. I have Hypothyrodism and a nodule. In 2006, my nodule was deemed suspicious so after my sonogram,They performed a Biopsy and deemed me to be fine;but to watch for potential growth in the future. Unfortunatley since then,I have not been able to seek " Health Insurance and rarley see a doctor or am able to get a sonogram. How often should one check on that? Can I afford to wait another 6 months to a year if my Biopsy was in good standing. My next question may be harder to answer. In 2006 as well I had carbon monoxide poisioning... I recieved oxygen I was sick for months prior to the incident blacking out ,fainting not knowing why .. I was treated and released..but 2 and half years later I suffer from besides my real health issues with thyroid I suffer from major anxitey and always think I am on the verge of getting it and relize it is something perhaps I should seek counseling for;though I try to fight this on my own.even if a lawnmower is running outside -- I close my windows thinking therei s a danger or cooking on my gas range gives me fear.i know this is silly but I that incident did shake me up and my logic. Are there any support groups out there? I have tried counseling once and it is as if they think it is trvial or i just need meds but I never have been mentally unstable before this and can`t seem to find help specifically for this issue.. Thank You,

I am 50 years old male with anxiety and stress. I developed the symptoms in 2006 when I did not get promotion though I deserved the most. I started becoming very emotional, very sensitive and in case I hear some news or view some secnes on the TV, I become emotional and tears rolled down my cheeks though after some time I wondered myself as to why I was on tears without apparent cause. I was put on Lexapro 10. After a years or so my symptoms vanished and internist started tapering of the dose and now I am completely off medicine since one month. Again since few days, I have the same pre treatment feelings : Excessive thinking, tears in the eyes without apparent cause, worrying over a trivial issue so on and so forth. Ineed your guidance as to how again it happened. My internist asked me to start Lexapro 10 and he told me to incerease it to lexapro 20 which will completely cure me of the present problem. Can you guide me as patient education and awareness. I shall be much obliged.

My husband had surgery in April this year, a back op, he had 7 levels done, op took 9 hrs. Since the op he has had bladder problems, on med for that, seems under control. Now he has these attacks where he panics if he doesnt pass water every two hrs or so. We dont go anywhere because of this problem. He has attacks suddenly, and cries alot. Is this normal from having gone through such a long op? He is on med Brazepam 3mg. Will his bladder ever come right again? he takes laxatives as well. Thanks

I have suffered from anxiety my whole life. It started out as a panic disorder when I was very young (about 5 years old)and continued on until I was prescribed with an antidepressant when I was 15. I still experience anxiety, but try to deal with with with low dose medication and exercise. Anyway, for the past 8 years I have also experienced extreme shame and embarrassment quite often. When I do or say something "stupid" I obsess over it for days, months, even years. I can`t help but run over the these embarrassing experiences in my head constantly, and recollections of these experiences pop into my head even when I`m thinking of something completely unrelated. These feelings of shame and humiliation haunt me. Is this normal?

Hi there. I don`t have health insurance and I don`t know who else to ask. This is the weirdest thing ever, and I haven`t found anything about it, so I guess in a way that scared me. I will be relaxing, not thinking about anything in particular and all of a sudden I get a huge adrenaline rush for only a few seconds. I can feel it in my chest. There is no pain whatsoever, but I do get a little lightheaded afterward because of the excitement. When I get these, I almost scream because it`s such a huge rush. I am so confused! This has been going on for a long time, and I just recently started wondering about it. I don`t know if this has anything to do with stress or anxiety, but it sure sounds like it. Thank you SO MUCH for your time, I hope you can help me.

I keep getting these bumps on my head that hurt. I will pull the hair out in the middle of bump and the hair has a clear surrounding around the root. It kinda hurts when I pull it. The bump seems to go away in couple days. But I tend to keep pulling hair b/c my head hurts. Then I end up with bald stops. I don`t know if its caused by stress. I do pull my eyelashes out, which i`ve done since high school. How do I get these bumps to go away.
