I have chronic constipation, which is probably from the medication I have to take for severe arthritis and a fractured spine. Regular use of over-the-counter laxatives results in nausea. Prescription laxatives haven't helped. High-fiber diet and activity aren't enough to prevent it. What can I do?

Dear Sir, I had been taking Histan for about 5 years and Teophedrin for many years. Recently, I had symptoms of ringing in the ears and dizzininess. I have been treated with dramamine and nearobiotin. Both dramamine and histan are antihistamines. From various sources, I have learned that Histan can cause the problem. How is it that similar drugs (antihistamines) can cause a problem and also be prescribed as a remedy?
