I have had cervical spinal fusion, also ulnar neuropathy surgery. have chronic neuropathic pain. I was on morphine and vicodin for breakout pain for 3 years. became addicted and am now only on gabapintin and a muscle relaxer. does not work very well. still in a lot of pain i would very much like your opinion about lyrica. I understand it works well for neuropathic pain.

If you are diagnosed with degenerative discs so your knees and thigh are very painful, what is the best treatment? This is after having knee replacement on that leg a year ago. Is it physical therapy, chiropractor, acupuncture, or what? Thank you. Bernice, Marblehead

Two years ago I had an xray of my lower back and the doctor told me it showed arthritis. I recently had an MRI of my lower back and he said I had degenterative disc disease and had me start physical therapy. He never sent the MRI reports to the facility so I went and got them aftr I had already ben there 4 visits. The xray showed several things wrong from bone spurs, old fractures, calcifications in kidney pole and several other things he never mentioned to me. The MRI showed there was also a bulging disc which he didn't mention so the treatment I was getting had to be changed when the PT Facility seen the results. I realize I should find another doctor, that is obvious but my question is...What kind of doctor should I go to? There are so many to choose from..DO MD Internist. I need someon that I can get old with. I hate changing doctors but I need someone that tells me what is wrong.
