I am a 8 year veteran of gastric bypass surgery and have kept the 190 lbs lost off over the years - I have developed an addiction to alcohol which has accelerated to needing treatment I am in counselling/therapy and am under Drs supervision while taking Anatabuse - began 4/8/10. I would like any info or stats on post gastric bypass patients and alcohol addition. I am very interested in warning and helping other of this "side effect" and want to better understand it myself to cope with and conquer this as well as help others...

I live in Arizona and my 18 year old is finally ready for rehab. Meth, alcohol, and marijuana are the substances he`s abused that we`re aware of. He recently tested positive for meth and marijuana on his first test with the local police department (he hadn`t been charged on his first offense, but was placed on a diversion program). He has about 3-4 months before he is formally charged. How do I know which chemical dependency program is best in phoenix and tucson?

I have a young brother who is an alcoholic and a drug addict. He spent 5 years in prison, got out, went 2 years attending meetings doing very well. He became smitten with a girl he met at NA and staarted dating her. Everything was fine until he got a job that required him to travel a montha at a time. # times she relapsed while he was gone, they`d break up get back together, then finally he relapsed too. They are now supposesdly broke up and he says he doesn`t want that life and denies doing any ,but I suspect he is lying. Should I confront him with my suspicions, spy on him or just let him be? I know the answers ALAnon gives but I also know he can`t do this he will die or wind up back in prison. Is there anything I can try to do or say that would be helpful to him?

After I eat a breakfast that includes green tea, people tell me that my breath smells like alchohol . This is causing me problems at work. Are there foods that can make your breathe smell like alchohol even if you haven`t had a drink? Could it be a gastro reflux problem or some other problem? I have R.A. and Sjogren`s disease. Thank you very much.

My son was a heroin addict for 4 yrs, using 25 bags per day (injecting) He was clean for 9 months and now he is taking xanax. I don`t know how much but it makes him talk alot and he is very nice to everyone now. He had back aches and chills yesterday. I am so scared for him. Can you overdose on this? Does it cause you to talk excessively. He thinks it is ok because it is not heroin. Please help me. Thank you
